Easter Day

We awoke Easter morning to find bunny tracks leading into our house and quite conveniently, into Riley's playroom where the furry guy himself stashed her basket.

(PS. The Easter Bunny used an old car-washing sponge, an exacto knife to carve some bunny toes, and flour to make these tracks. He also put them in the driveways of other kiddies in our neighborhood and sporadically around the neighborhood lake.)

After a yummy brunch of quiche, french toast casserole, and fresh-picked strawberries, we embarked on an egg hunting adventure. Riley would squeal in delight, "More eggs!" each time she discovered another one.

We rounded our afternoon out with a small egg hunt with a few neighbors. The three kids hunted for over 200 eggs. Riley was a bit overwhelmed at this point and made a few dashes to the sand pit instead of the eggs. After some coaxing from her best little buddy, Mariah, she was back on track.

This picture pretty much sums up the day. "AAAAAHHHHHHH."

After naps, we enjoyed a delicious dinner cooked by Dan: lemon-pepper salmon prepared on the grill, green beans, garlic mashed potatoes and dinner rolls. We ate on the lanai enjoying the breeze and company. What a great (and exhausting) Easter!
